Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama disclosed, flood anticipatory in Jakarta is a matter of setting the water flow. Water flow from the upstream must be distributed to all the existing channel. Thus it does not burden one stream of water.

"In Jakarta, there are 13 main rivers and 1,086 channels. This is about water setting," he said, at City Hall, Monday (2/29).

He cited rain that flushed the city these several days is quite evenly. But the puddle is unevenly. It was due to the channel flow uneven. 

"Logically, rain in Jakarta is often evenly. But why the puddle always moves, it is because of uneven channel," he expressed.

Hence, his party asks Water Management Dept to check out water flow thus can distribute water flow when rain pours. In addition, all channels must be cleaned.

PPSU officer has cleaned garbage in some channels.

"But they are newcomer. They work in July, to check out the constraints," he uttered.
